CROSSROAD – CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

CHAPTER 31 –
© MOMOH GIFT

Oh God! Why have you left me all alone in this world without anyone to call a father, mother, brother or sister? You took my dad away while I was still a child and now you have taken my mum away from me again.

I prayed and fasted so much for your mercy to prevail over mummy’s life yet you didn’t answer my prayer.

What have I done to deserve all these Lord? How will I cope without the love of a father or a mother? Oh! This is too much for me to bear all alone.

It’s okay Tayo my daughter. I know how hard it is for you right now but I am assuring you that your mum has gone home to rest.

Please don’t question your Creator because He is an unquestionable Father. He does His things in His own way.

I want to tell you that you are not alone my dear.

The presence of God who has been with you right from your childhood is still here with you.

He won’t leave you all by yourself.

Though you might have lost your biological parents your heavenly father is still here and has given you new parents.

We shall take care of you as our own blood Tayo.

Elder Emmanuel spoke with so much love in his voice as he remembers vividly all what the Lord revealed to him about the mystery of Tayo’s birth.

Mrs. Emmanuel who has listened to all the revelations her husband had when he took her outside just couldn’t stop controlling the flow of tears running down from her eyes.

She was so amazed by the powerful wisdom of God.

She had always watched it in movies but had never thought it was very real.

She blessed God for everything He did and gave him all the glory.

She stood up from where she has been sitting down quietly since mum Tayo gave up the ghost to the other side of the ward where Tayo was sitting on the floor.

She sat down on the floor with Tayo and placed Tayo’s head on her laps.

Weep no more my lovely daughter. You are not alone in this world because your parents are right here with you.

We shall take you as our own biological child.

We shall take up every responsibility as parents to you.

Please don’t be discouraged my dear because God is not done with you yet.

The truth is that He loves you even more than you can understand.

All these should not take away your trust from God.

This is the time for you to draw closer to him the more.

He is the only one that is dependable because humans would fail and they are always limited but this God is unlimited.

He is capable of doing whatever He wants to do for you.

Hold Him firm and ask for His grace to do His will at all times because one day, we all shall be called home just like your late mum whose body has just been wheeled from this ward.

Don’t worry at all because your life shall be a blessing to humanity and the circumstances of life shall not stop you from fulfilling your purpose here on earth. God bless you my daughter.

Amen! Thank you so much mummy and daddy.

We shall all travel back home today and live together as a happy family while we prepare for the funeral of mum Tayo.

I have collected all the necessary documents from the doctor. So the preparations shall begin soonest.

But why did you bring your late mum to this particular hospital Tayo? Wasn’t it too far to go that particular night? I was shocked when you mentioned the name of the hospital.

I thought your mum was staying with you for the main time in our town? How come you brought her to this other town? What happened?

Yes Daddy. She was staying with me in my apartment but she told me that very day that she kept an important documents with one of her friend who happened to have travelled abroad few weeks ago for a vacation.

My mum said she kept the documents with this friend of hers for so many years while they were still living together as roommates.

Mum thought that since she isn’t using the document then it wasn’t necessary to get the it anymore so she forgot about it.

But since that she came to meet with both of you in the hospital, she decided to call her friend for the documents because it contains important information needed to locate your lost child.

My late mum pleaded with me to go with her to the friend’s house in order to get the document.

She seemed to be in a haste and wanted to hand it over to you at all cost that night.

Unfortunately, she became very ill that same night we got to the house. I had to rush her down to this hospital called Greenfield Hospital since it was the closest to the friend’s house.

Hmmm! Lord have mercy. You really tried my daughter. You have really gone through a lot of stress already. The Lord will empower you and give you peace.

Amen! Here is the document Daddy. My late mum’s heart desire when we got to that house that day was that she wanted to ask for forgiveness from the innocent child whom she had made pass through a lot of problems due to her greed.

She hopes that the boy who would be a very young man now finds a place in his heart to forgive her.

It is well my daughter. Please open the brown envelope and let me see the documents that are inside. Elder Emmanuel instructed with much curiosity.

Sister Tayo opened the envelope and handed the three papers inside to elder Emmanuel who quickly glanced through each of the papers.

Daddy! She said it contains every detail given to her by the orphanage home which she decided to keep then for no reason.

She also said it would help more in the search for your son.

Alright, my daughter.

What! Dr. Fabian Anthony Ayoola.

What is the matter dear? Is everything okay my husband? Mrs. Emmanuel asked with fear.

This name I’m seeing is the name of my childhood friend.

Oh! This is surprising and very good news at the same time because this same person was my childhood friend whose parents and my parents had been long-time friends for so many years before they died.

Well! I know some people do bear the same name. I just pray that this is the same person I have in mind.

Wow! What a mighty God we serve. I remember your friend sweetheart.

He was present during our wedding ceremony.

I remember him very well. Oh! Jesus thank you so much. This is a sign that we are getting closer to our son day by day.

Hmmm! I just hope it is not someone else.

I really want it to be my childhood friend though I lost contact with him for so many years now.

That was immediately after our wedding. But I will make some calls with other friends of mine to know if they have his contact. I need to get it at all costs.

That’s a very good idea dear. What about the other papers? You haven’t checked it to confirm what it contains.

Oh yes! Let me do that right now gently.

Oh! This particular paper shows that our son has a birthmark on his back and a black spot on his left arm. I think this is very useful as well.

Yes! It is very useful my dear husband. Honey! I have this deep feeling inside of me that God wants us to connect with our dear son as soon as possible. I really don’t know but these few days I have been having this strange feeling that something bad is happening to him somewhere.

Though I have tried to push it away it just can’t leave easily.

Even when I have those strange feelings, all I think about is Bro Ade.

I really don’t know why that young man has captured my mind so much.

Maybe he looks like our son or maybe he is going through the same problem with our son and God wants to use him as a point of contact to our son wherever he is.
Hmmm! I’m really confused dear. I don’t know what to say anymore.

It’s okay my dear wife.. You don’t need to be confused because God is with us. I believe strongly that the Lord is set to connect us with our son and by His grace it will happen soonest.

Mrs. Emmanuel collected one of the papers from her husband to glance through then her eyes saw something very useful.

Oh! My dear husband, the phone number of the person in charge of the orphanage is right here beside the address written.

Are you serious about this dear? Please let me see. Elder asked with so much excitement while Tayo watched both of them with so much pity in her heart for them.

Even though she just lost her biological mum, she still can’t explain the kind of love she has in her heart for this couple who still love God and each other despite their challenge in life.

Hmmm! She has indeed been blessed by wonderful parents who love her and also love God deeply.

Lord please if not for anything but for my sake, help mummy and daddy to locate their son again so that their joy may be made complete. Tayo prayed quietly in her heart.

But it’s more than twenty years now since these documents were issued. Are you sure the number would still be reachable? Elder Emmanuel asked feeling somehow discouraged.

I know that it has been a very long time but there is no harm in trying.

I believe God will make it reachable. Even if it is no longer in use, for our sake it would be reachable. Please let’s try it first. Mrs. Emmanuel persuaded her husband who felt somehow reluctant already.

Well! God is in control.

Elder Emmanuel brought out his cell phone from his pocket and dialed the number while the wife and Tayo prayed in tongues silently.

Within a few seconds, the phone began to ring and someone picked up the call.

Hello! Good day to you. A male voice responded.

Elder Emmanuel quickly replied with a shaky voice.

Good day to you sir. Please am I speaking with Dr. Fabian An….

Yes sir! You are speaking with Dr. Fabian Anthony Ayoola from Great Destiny’s orphanage home.

What! Ayoola! Is this you? Your voice hasn’t changed a bit. This is your childhood friend Emmanuel Oluwatobi. Ah! This God is awesome. It has been a long while.

What! Tobi! Is this you? Oh! My God! This world is indeed a small place. I have tried so hard to get your contact all to no avail.

Same story here bro. Please where are you right now?

I came to check on a friend of mine who was admitted to Greenfield Hospital but would soon be going back home to check on the little children in my orphanage home.

Do you mean Greenfield Hospital? Is the same one at No. 22 Azikwe Road?
Oh yes! That very big hospital. I am there presently.

Oh! This God is indeed great. He brought us here for a reason. See how the Lord strategizes everything for our sake. Oh! Faithful father you are worthy to be praised.

Ayoola! I am right inside Greenfield Hospital with my wife and daughter.

Oh my God! Do you mean you are also in Greenfield Hospital? Ha! Ha! Ha! Please and please come over to the reception room now now oh.

I really can’t wait to see you, Tobi. The Lord is indeed a faithful father.

Recently, He has been putting the thoughts of you so strongly in my heart.

Ah! Finally, I will see you again my very good friend. Please come very fast.

I’m coming right away, my friend. Elder Emmanuel hung up the call and as he turned around to check on his wife and his new daughter, he found them kneeling on the ground with their hands lifted up while their eyes were closed with tears running down their eyes in appreciation to God.

He quickly knelt down with them as they worshipped God in that ward. The presence of God was felt mightily as they worshipped God silently.

After some minutes, Mrs. Emmanuel spoke with so much joy.
God brought us to Greenfield Hospital for a reason.

He ordered the step of our helper to Greenfield Hospital as well.

He made everything easy for us at His own best time.

Indeed! We serve a marvelous God. You are worthy to be praised Rose of Sharon. All glory and honor be to your holy name.

Please let’s hurry up to the reception so that we won’t keep him waiting since this hospital is a very big one.

We would have to walk for some minutes from this particular ward we are before we get to that reception. Please let’s go quickly.

They quickly packed some of their things in the private ward and they all walked out of the ward as fast as their legs could carry them.

             *                          *.                                               *.

Hello! Good day, Father Ayo( as he was fondly called by all the children in the orphanage home). Ade greeted the man who had taken care of him since he was a baby.

Hello, my wonderful son. How are you doing dear.

I’m fine sir. Father, I really have a lot to discuss with you so I will come over to the house after seeing a friend of mine whose mother has been admitted to Greenfield Hospital. She is seriously sick. I will come once I’m through Father Ayo.

Do you mean Greenfield Hospital?

Yes, father. Greenfield Hospital.

Wow! I am also in Greenfield Hospital right now. I came to visit a friend who was admitted here.

Oh! That’s very great. That means I will see you my father Ayo soonest. I can’t wait to see you, Father Ayo. I’ve missed you so much. It’s over a month now that I haven’t seen you.

I missed you too my dear son. Come quickly. I shall be waiting for you in the hospital and will also introduce you to a childhood friend of mine whom I just contacted after so many years.

The same person I have been telling all of you about when you were still little children.

Do you mean the friend you always refer to as Tobi?

Yes, my son. I have finally heard his voice after so many years. He is in this hospital with his wife and daughter. I shall see them soon in a couple of minutes.

Alright, Father Ayo. I can’t wait to meet him too.

Come quickly, my son.
