CROSSROAD – CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

CHAPTER 26 –
© MOMOH GIFT

Oh Lord please have mercy.

Doctor what is wrong with her? How is she coping? Is everything alright? Would she be fine?

Please do everything within your power to care for her as much as you can.

Mrs. Emmanuel cried as she held mummy Tayo’s hands who happened to be sleeping already due to the injection given to her by the doctor to make her calm.

We are doing our very best madam. As you know already, we only care but God heals.

I have tried to check what is wrong with her but I really can’t find anything wrong with her medically.

She just have a high temperature and that’s all.

I believe that she is just stressed up.

Also she has been calling Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel ever since she got here.

I believe that she really wants to see them.

We are Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel doctor.

We are the ones she has been calling.

I am just confused right now because I don’t understand all these.

This woman has been very healthy these past days and has been the one taking good care of her daughter who was admitted in the hospital few days ago.

Oh! Jesus please take control over her. Elder Emmanuel prayed silently in his heart.

I believe that you are all believers, so I will advise that you all should pray for her.

I believe that the Almighty God will heal her.

He is the giver of Life and sound health. He will surely help her.

Thank you so much doctor. We will do that right now.

You are welcome. I shall be in my office in case you want to see me again.

Alright doctor.

Oh! Father! Please don’t allow my mum to die now.

She is the only family I have left. I lost my dad right from when I was kid.

Mummy was thrown out by her in-laws and she has been struggling to make things better for me and to give me a better future.

She has suffered too much already Lord. Please don’t let her die now.

This is the time for her to eat and enjoy the fruit of her labor for these past years.

Though she has wronged you so much in the past but in your mercy, you brought her back to you.

You delivered her from the bondage of sin and gave her a brand new life.

Lord please don’t allow the enemies to take her life away.

Allow her to live longer so that she can do your work father.

I plead for your mercy over her life oh God. Tayo cried as she prayed loudly to God.

It’s alright my daughter. Please I need you to be strong for your mum. I know how you feel right now but I want you to pull yourself together. This is not the time for us to cry or to be weak but a time for us to intercede on her behalf trusting God to save her life and deliver her totally.

She really needs our prayers right now. I believe that our God is a merciful Father.

He would answer us by His mercy and grant her healing. Please let us be strong for her.

I don’t want her to die sir. She is all I have as a relative.

She suffered too much. I really want her to live so she can eat all the fruits of her labor over my life. I don’t want her to die.
Tayo cried bitterly.
I understand you my daughter. I know it’s hard for you but please be strong.

If not for anything but for your mum. She really needs your prayers right now. As you can see, she really can’t help herself right now. She needs our prayers. Let us pray for her. Mrs. Emmanuel consoled her.

Right now, let’s hold our hands together and pray for her. Elder Emmanuel stretch his right hand to his wife and his left hand to Tayo and they began to worship God.

As they worshipped God, they all began to speak in tongues.

The prayers was so intense that each of them were sweating so hard.

Tayo was the loudest because she really wants God to hear her cry and save her mum from the cold hands of death.

They all continued to pray very hard and suddenly, Elder Emmanuel fell into a trance.

He saw mum Tayo smiling and waving to him with her left hands while she held a man clothed in white with her right hands.

No! Mum Tayo! Please come back to us. We really need you back. You shouldn’t leave us right now. Your daughter needs you most. Stop waving at me. Please come back now. Don’t go away. Come back! Mum Tayo. I shouted at the top of my voice because she seems to be moving slowly with the man and not even listening to what I was saying.

All she was doing was smiling and waving while I continued to shout her name and pleading with her to come back.

I have called her home my dear son.

Her time on earth is up. She can’t come back to you any longer. She has completed my assignment here on earth and I have called her to reign in my kingdom with me. I heard a gentle but firm voice speaking to me.

Completed her assignment? But how? She just got born again few years ago? I thought she has just started? I asked again. By this time, mum Tayo and the man she was holding were out of sight as I couldn’t see them again.

I could only hear the voice speaking to me which I just knew was the voice of God.

It is not about the number of years spent my son.

I know that to you, she has just spent few years serving me and has just began.

But to me, she has spent few years and has completed everything I wanted her to do and now is the time for her to rest. So many have been saved for long but have not even started to fulfil my purpose for their life. They have not done my assignment and are just wasting time.

Some are doing what I never asked them to do.

While some have not even asked me what my plans are for their lives.

My daughter did everything I asked her to do within a limited time and I have decided to call her home to rest.

Oh! Have mercy Father. But what about her child? What will happen to her? She is the only one the daughter has right now.

Yes I know and that was why I brought Tayo to you because you and your wife shall be her parents henceforth.

I promised you children and Tayo is one of them. She belongs to you.

Belongs to me? How Lord? I became very confused.
Your son whom you would soon find was taken away from you by her mum which was my intention because I allowed it to happen that way though in her ignorance.

After the birth of your son, something happened to your wife’s womb during the delivery of that child which has made her unable to bear a child just as the doctor confirmed it.

I expected you to call unto me for my help but you both decided to follow the medical prescription given by the doctor which was not bad.

You depended on those prescriptions rather than depending on me and you were disappointed and lost all chances of giving birth.

Yet! I wanted my child Tayo to come to the world through you but since that particular thing happened, I decided to use my daughter (mum Tayo) to be the carrier of the child because I knew she won’t stay very long here on earth before I call her home.

I used her even when she was deeply in sin to take away your son from you to that orphanage home because that was his training ground.

She was the vessel I used to make your son’s life better even though it looks unlawful to men.

I knew that your son won’t get enough training from you which he needs in his life journey because as at that time, you and your wife were not believers.

You were only church goers and the destiny of that child would have been truncated because you wouldn’t have given him the spiritual training he needs rather, only the physical materials which would not take him far.

Now as for Tayo, I was ready to send her to the world through your wife but both of you were not open to receive her. You allowed the thoughts the devil whispered to your ears to consume you. You gave up your chances of giving birth to another child when the doctor told you of what happened to the womb of your wife during her first child delivery and also when the medications never gave any positive result.

Since you both decided to submit totally to me and was deeply engrossed in my word, I decided to channel the child to your life for you to nurture her in my ways since the one who gave birth to her hasn’t come to my light yet.

That was why I brought Tayo to you few years ago and made you her mentor all through those years in order to groom her so well in my ways which you have done faithfully.

Now, it’s time for you to take over your fatherly role fully in her life and as for your son, I would bring him as soon as the time is due. I would bring him to you myself.

Ah! Indeed! Your ways are not our ways. Lord take all the glory.

You shall have some documents which was kept by my daughter (mum Tayo) for so long.

It would be as a proof to show that you are the true father of the young man when the time is due.

Thank you Faithful Father. Thank you Lord.

Then I became conscious of my environment again.

My wife and my wonderful daughter (Tayo) were still praying very hard.

I turned and look towards mum Tayo who was still lying peacefully on the bed and I shook my head.

Immediately, mum Tayo began to breath very fast and also began to stretch her legs on the bed.

She seems to be trying to struggle with her breath.

Then I knew her time is really up just as the Lord has spoken to me in the trance.

Tayo began to shout as she sees her mum jerking on the bed while my wife ran to call the doctor.

The doctor came and began to do what he knows best but within very few minutes, mum Tayo stopped shaking and became very still. There and then, I knew that she is gone.

The doctor shook his head and covered her face with the bed sheet.

Then he turned to us and said ” we tried our very best but I’m sorry, we lost her”.

Nooo! This is not true.

My mum cannot leave me just like that. She can’t go now.

Ah! Mummy please open your eyes.

You cannot die like this.

Please wake up mummy.

Oh! Wake up.

Don’t leave me all alone.
Open your eyes for me.

Say something to me. You said you love me and would always stand by me.

That was what you said while I was sick.

No! Please wake up mummy.

Don’t do this to me. Tayo cried loudly as she held her mum’s hand shaking her in a bid to make her wake up.

I turned to the wall and cried bitterly as I remembered all what the Lord told me in that trance.

Oh! Indeed! Mum Tayo did not really spend much time serving God and not much years on earth, but she completed her assignments here and now has gone to be with the father in heaven.

What is our own fate here on earth? Will I also be welcomed by my father in heaven when I finally close my eyes in death? Though I have been born again for years now, but just like He said, it is not about the number of years. am I even doing what He wants me to do for His kingdom? Even if I am doing it, is it as He expects me to do it?

Though mum Tayo lived a very bad life for most of her years on earth, but the few years she accepted Christ, she did the work of her father faithfully until He counted it fit to call her home.

Indeed! Her death is a painful one to me as I never expected it, but it is a call to me to step up my faith in God. To do more for the kingdom of God until I am finally called home by my father.

Are you fulfilling God’s assignment here on earth? Are you doing what He wants you to do?
