CROSSROAD – CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

CHAPTER 18 –
© MOMOH GIFT

What! You sold my baby for money? You made me childless.

You made me an object of mockery among other women.

You made me mourn my child for more than twenty years.

Ah! What have I ever done to you? What was my offense? I carried that baby in my womb for a good nine months yet I never got to see my child.

You tore my heart apart. I have been called different names by various people.

I had been ridiculed and disgraced so many times all because I didn’t have a child of my own.

I have suffered shame for so long. Oh! Jesus! This is just too much for me to bear.

I am really sorry ma. Please forgive me for the sake of Christ. I did it then when I never had my encounter with Jesus.

I was carried away by the huge amount of money the lady offered to me. I did it out of greed. Please forgive me sir and ma.

No! This is too much to bear. I really can’t.

It’s okay honey. I know you are hurt just like I am right now but this is not the time to give the devil any space in our lives.

We are commanded as believers to forgive and that is what we are going to do.

We have no other choice than to forgive her.

If God Almighty has accepted her as his daughter and has washed away all her iniquities then who are we not to forgive as well? Remember that there is a reason for everything.

I believe God did that to train our son and make him fit for His works.

I know God has reasons why He permitted all those things to happen.

I hope you remember when He told us that He would give us a child right? Then we should celebrate because we know that our child is safe wherever he is as a grown up man and already doing the work of the most High.

At last, we would be proud parents of a son.

Please stop shedding your tears, my dear. Elder Emmanuel tried consoling his wife, who just couldn’t control herself anymore. Immediately, Mum Tayo made her confessions.

What if our son died in that orphanage home or was sent to live on the streets? What if something bad has happened to our dear son? Oh! What if he never survived it because of the absence of his parents?

Stop saying all those negative words dear.

I believe that our son is doing well wherever he is.

You should know that even if we as the earthly parents were not there with him, his heavenly father is with him wherever he is.

The Lord will never leave him. So i am perfectly sure that our son is completely alright wherever he is.

Ah! Mummy and daddy, I am speechless. It is heartbreaking to think that this same baby belongs to you both.

I know how both of you have suffered great humiliations from people because of this situation but please just show my mum your mercy.

Please find a place in your heart to forgive her.

Oh! Please have mercy. Tayo wept bitterly as she lay down on the hospital bed.

It’s alright Miss Tayo. Please don’t stress yourself too much.

Though it’s very difficult we forgive and let go for the sake of Jesus.

We forgive your mum for everything she has made us pass through.

Indeed! Everything that happens occurs for a reason. God did it for His own will.

At least, within these years, we have learned so much about Him.

Our relationship with Him became very strong and He has taught us to love others just like He does. Elder Emmanuel spoke as he held his wife with his hands.

God bless you for your act of forgiveness.

Indeed! We have seen the evidence in you that you are indeed a true child of God. Thank you so much sir and ma.

Miss Tayo, please stop crying. I believe this is not the time to cry over the past which has happened already but the time to search for the child.

We should try to get the new address of the orphanage home and from there, we can have the needed information for the child.

I know that God will direct all of us by Himself.

Oh! God is indeed a mighty Father. He does His own things in mysterious ways. The pastor concluded.

Please stand on your feet, madam. I forgive you from the depth of my heart. Though it is very painful I still let go.

May the hand of the Lord continue to help you as you journey with Him faithfully.

We will not press any charges against you because it would be against the will of our creator.

We forgive you, madam. Mrs Emmanuel hugged mum Tayo who had been crying uncontrollably as she remembered all of her past mistakes and how she had made the couple pass through a whole lot of problems in life.

Hmmm! Lord! I am deeply amazed by how great you love me.

I was fully prepared to go the prison for my actions to ensure that Tayo is well again but you touched the heart of the couple to forgive me just like that when they have the full right to hand me over to the police.

Oh! Indeed you are a merciful Father. You are always at the side of Your children helping them even without their awareness.

Despite how the devil filled my heart with so much guilt daily that sometimes I felt like the worst sinner on earth and even had the thought of taking my own life, my heavenly Father has always been there for me at all times.

See how He divinely arranged these couple to meet me here and also touched their heart to forgive me without any charges.

Oh! I appreciate you, Lord.

Thank you so much ma’am and sir. God bless you more abundantly. I am truly grateful.

Please Elder and Mrs Emmanuel Oluwatobi, we need to begin our search immediately because I know fully well that both of you are really eager to see your lovely son again.

I don’t want any of us here to fear or doubt because the presence of God is with us and will surely lead us through no matter how long or hard it gets. Let’s keep trusting God for He will do what only Him can do for us.

Lest I forget, please elder and Mrs Emmanuel help me lay your hands and pray for Miss Tayo.

That was the divine instruction given by God before she could be well again.

He said her mum needs to be forgiven by the couple whom she has offended and also ensure that the couple pray for her as well.

Indeed God knows the best. This is to tell you that God is amazing.

Though He has the power to heal Miss Tayo long before now, because He knows that every hidden thing needs to be revealed and also to set his own free from bondage and sorrow, He had to do it.

That’s my own thoughts anyway. But in all, our God is good, and His Mercy endureth forever. He does His things in a beautiful way that is even beyond human understanding.

Elder and Mrs. Emmanuel stepped forward to the bed Miss Tayo was lying on and laid their hands on her.

They prayed so deeply from the heart that everyone in the private ward felt the power and presence of the most High God.

Mum Tayo fell under the anointing of God as she continued to speak in other tongues.

Miss Tayo began to sweat profusely even though the environment was very cold at that moment.

We all felt the power of God greatly.

Indeed! The Lord has begun His great work in her life.

                  *                           *.                                                 *.

Good morning pastor! I was asked by the usher to see you in your office immediately.

Oh yes, Mr. Ade! Good morning to you. I’m really sorry for disturbing you this time because I know you will be very busy in the teenagers’ class.

Sorry about that. I was phoned two days ago that this brother here would be sent to our branch today because he has been transferred by his company to this city.

So I was asked to receive him warmly as he would report here in church this morning.

Mr Ade! Please meet Evangelist Vincent, a man with great utterance. A man who fears God and despises sin. A man who carries the presence of God wherever he goes. He is a man that demons bow to. A very great man of the word.

He was formerly the youth president at his own branch before he came here. Though he said he has lived most part of his life in the United States of America and just came back to Nigeria a few months ago because of his passion for God, he was made the youth president over there and fortunately for us here, he has been transferred to this city by his company and the branch over there has no choice but to release him to us here.

Oh! Indeed we are mightily blessed. Mr Vincent, please meet our own Mr Ade.

A man who has submitted his totality to Christ and who has been a great blessing to us over here.

God has been using him mightily for the church most especially among young adults and teenagers.

He has made so many lives encounter Christ and we are really proud of him.

Wow! I’m really pleased to meet you, Mr. Ade.

Indeed! You are a great blessing to humanity. We have heard so many great things about you and I’m glad to finally meet you in person.

I believe it was a divine arrangement for us to meet together so that we could join hands and destroy the kingdom of darkness totally.

With our cooperation, we would do our father’s business and take over territories for Christ.

Lives shall be transformed and the children of God shall be blessed wonderfully.

Yes sir! I’m pleased to meet you, Evangelist Vincent. It would be an honor to work with you, sir. I am very excited to see young men on fire for Christ. I look forward to working with you in order to bring revival to the land with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for this great honor, sir. God bless you mightily.

Amen and you too Mr Ade.

Wow! I’m so glad you two are getting along so fast because there is no time to waste anymore.

We need to pull down the kingdom of darkness and take over the entire nation for Jesus.

We are not to waste any more time because the kingdom of darkness has gone too far already and we need to step into action to set every captive free.

I pray that the strength and grace we all need to do the will of the Father shall be given to us in Jesus name.

Amen! They both chorused together as the pastor prayed.

Well! I believe that Evangelist Vincent is fully prepared to minister today. I hope you are fully prepared sir? Though I informed you very late I know that God’s grace is sufficient for you. We want to be blessed through your ministration today. We want to experience the mighty power of God today.

We want to have a great encounter with the Holy Spirit today through you.

I know there shall be signs and wonders as well. I pray that the Holy Spirit Himself will be with you and use you greatly for us.

Amen! Thank you so much, pastor. Thanks for this awesome privilege to share God’s word with the people. I am really grateful.

You are welcome, sir! Please, Mr Ade! Sorry for taking your time. You can go back to the teenagers class. God bless you.

Amen! Thank you so much, sir. Mr Ade replied as he left the pastor’s office.

Lest I forget Evangelist Vincent! Please ensure that people fall under the anointing oh. Let there be great miracles today because that is what the people really need here.

We have been losing so many members recently because of our long sermons that are mostly about holiness and the elders have come to warn me to stop it so that we won’t lose many more souls.

I really don’t want the elders to be displeased at all and that is why I have tried my best to do whatever they ask me to do even if it is against my personal principles because I want to live in peace with all men just as the bible has commanded.

I am a man of peace and love and therefore I do everything possible to make sure I live in peace with everyone and also love them so that I can make it to heaven.

So my point is that, please don’t allow the sermon to be too long, and also make sure you preach more on the blessings of God and the grace of God.

The congregation will listen to you with rapt attention.

Also, ensure that the power of God moves mightily during the service.

This is really very important because that is where the people will know if you are truly a great minister or not.

That is how it is being operated here. Though I tried to change it when I came new as time went on, I couldn’t cope anymore because of the drastic reduction in the population of the congregation and how the elders had threatened me times without a number.

Well! I gave in to their demands just recently even though I knew that it was wrong but I had no other choice.
The pressure on me was just too much.

Evangelist! I am telling you all these to prepare your mind for what awaits you.

I don’t want you to go through all these and to save you from unnecessary stress.

Please just follow my advice and everything shall go well.

Hmmm! This is really serious. Is that what Mr Ade has been doing as well? I mean all these things you just said?

Not at all Evangelist. I really don’t know why I find it difficult to say all these to Mr Ade.

Everyone knows Mr Ade as a man of his own principles.

He will never compromise for anything and this has made some elders and some members hate him and even leave the church.

He behaves just like me before I changed recently.

So most times, I find myself encouraging him the more and also praying for him the more.

Alright, pastor! I have heard all that you said and I’m grateful for saying all these to me in advance.

I am so grateful for this pastor. You are indeed a loving person. I will do my very best to do all that you have said. I will prove to them that indeed I am called by God.

I will show forth God’s power and they will be so amazed.

Lives will not remain the same for everyone in this church again.

Wow! I love that Evangelist. You really understand what I want and I’m glad about that.

We have arranged a place for you already as instructed by the council of the church and an usher standing outside will show you the place.

You can go and pray for a while before you are called to mount the pulpit.

Alright, sir! Thank you very much, pastor.

You are welcome.

Hmmm! Indeed these people are truly blind in the spirit.

Not even the pastor could see who I truly was.

No discernment at all. See how he has been carried away by all the rubbish that he heard about me.

Imagine what he was telling me about the church.

Indeed! We have really gone far in caging most of these so-called believers.

They are all after the manifestation of power, signs, and wonders and are not interested in hearing the word of God anymore.

I’m happy because that is our main goal.

I’m so impressed by how we the kingdom of darkness have captured these people so much.

Even the so-called pastor had to compromise on his belief because of little condemnation and pressure.

Anyways! I don’t care about him at all because he is already our captive.
All these will make my work very easy.

I am not here for any of them. I am here for that young man who calls himself Mr Ade.

I must get him at all costs.

Enough of all the terrible things he has been doing to us. Most of these youths he is handling in this church and also outside this church were formally our captives but he came and delivered them from our hands.

He needs to pay with his own life.

Though I know that it might not be too easy to get him, I know it would be much easier to get him through his weakness just as the great one has told me before I left.

I will do everything possible to get him. Nothing can stop me. I am unstoppable.
